Is this medical or nursing care?

No. Agape Family Care LLC provides non-medical Homemaker and Companion Services. We do not provide hands-on personal care or nursing services under our Homemaker and Companion Services registration. Medication administration and wound care are not provided either.

Questions families ask us

Does Medicare pay for an in-home caregiver?

Not for non-medical help at home. Medicare covers skilled home health on a doctor order, meaning nursing or therapy for a limited period. Companionship, meals, housekeeping and driving are not covered, which surprises a lot of families after a hospital discharge.

How much should a private caregiver charge?

Rates vary widely by area and by what the work involves, and anyone quoting a firm number before seeing the situation is guessing. Here, care starts from 15 hours per week and the in-home assessment is free. Marie will give you a written care plan and quote after that visit.

What happens if a family cannot afford assisted living?

Home care is often the cheaper option when the need is part-time, because you pay for the hours you actually use rather than a full residential place. Florida Medicaid programmes and VA benefits may help depending on eligibility. It is worth having the conversation before a crisis forces the decision.
